Phil Jump has 40 years of oil industry experience. He was a founder member and latterly managing director of the Amerex London office, broking the earliest paper contracts in WTI, Brent, Dubai and other grades of crude oil.
After 10 years in the London office, during which he assisted in the establishment of one of the first Brent futures teams on the floor of the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE – later ICE) he moved to Singapore in late 1990 to set up the Amerex office, concentrating initially on adding Asian and Middle Eastern customers to Amerex’s crude oil business. Later, as managing director, he oversaw the establishment of the Fuel Oil, Middle Distillate and Coal desks.
In 2007, whilst still maintaining his interest as a director of Amerex he joined Concord Energy Pte Ltd where he was responsible for the acquisition and implementation of several major infrastructure projects.
In 2013 on leaving Concord he returned to active participation in Amerex, overseeing the move to full regulation and the registration of the company with National Futures Association (NFA) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS.) He currently acts as Chairman and oversees Anti-Money Laundering and other compliance issues for the company.
Mr Jump is also a co-founder and Director of ValuEnergy Pte Ltd a Singapore-based electricity retail company.
Andrew Mawicke
– Managing Director
Andrew Mawicke has 31 years of oil trading and oil brokerage experience in both OTC swaps and physical markets. Mr Mawicke came to Singapore in 1990 and began brokering Fuel Oil for Shogun Oil In 1993 he joined Trafigura Singapore trading physical Fuel Oil, Crude Oil and Middle Distillates as well as the associated swaps and futures. In 2000 he joined Amerex as head of the Fuel Oil desk broking both physical Fuel Oil and all grades of Fuel Oil derivatives.
Mr Mawicke has built a highly successful fuel oil brokerage team and developed unique internal systems of trade execution and support capable of excelling in a market where speed and efficiency of execution are essential.
